SeeLine's Experience

Since our inception, SeeLine has led a number of strategic consulting efforts that were instrumental in establishing frameworks, metrics and approaches that are commonly used to assess energy and sustainability programs, evaluation efforts and project approvals by government, utilities and the private sector.

What We've Done

Ontario Energy Board

Developed the TRC Manual and TRC Tool that were adopted by both the Ontario Energy Board and the Independent Electricity System Operator to assess the cost effectiveness of Conservation and Demand Management programs in Ontario.  These approaches are currently used by the IESO to establish TRC results for both technologies and programs.

Ontario Power Authority/Independent Electricity System Operator

Development and implementation of a detailed review, ranking, and selection process for emergent conservation technologies in the form of a screening tool. This tool assigned weighted scores to a series of variables that represent critical indicators for the eventual deployment of an emergent technology in the marketplace.  Included the identification of 100 prescriptive technologies.

Ontario Power Authority/Independent Electricity System Operator

Design, development and implementation of capability building initiatives for 12 key sectors, including SWOT analysis, barriers identification, initiative development and contracting support.

Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC)

Design and implement the initial screening and project approvals approach used by SDTC to assess and prioritize project approvals for funding requests.  Project included review of over 1,000 applications for funding.

Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC)

Development of the Sustainable Technology Assessment Roadmap (STAR) to provide guidance related to strategic investment priorities for SDTC for major sectors of the clean technology sectors including wind, solar, biomass and hydrogen.

Enbridge Gas Distribution

Undertook a series of best practice studies encompassing detailed assessments of DSM programming efforts across North America.  Sectors covered included New Construction, Commercial Building Retrofits and Mass Markets.

Enbridge Gas Distribution

Design and development of a series of market transformation new construction programs that were ultimately delivered under the Savings by Design Program offer.  These programs were approved for delivery by the Ontario Energy Board and continue to form the entirety of Enbridge’s new construction programming activities. SeeLine continues to support the delivery of the Savings by Design program through the provision of workshop facilitation, subject matter expertise and report writing.

Development of classification guideline to assist Enbridge sales staff identify projects for inclusion in the various affordable housing program offers.

Successful Lost Revenue Adjustment Mechanism implementation including calculation and reporting of LRAM to the OEB for the purpose of variance account clearing.
